Like a Guardian Angel:
I imagine Nahyuta had a *very* difficult time becoming a prosecutor in Khura'in. Teachers being extra hard on him, sadistic tests of loyalty, cruel peers, being away from the rebels for the first time, the works.

And I imagine Amara (as Nayna) saw all this. She knew she couldn't intervene directly, or let her son know where she was, but she would leave help, in her own way.

A few cryptic words of wisdom as she walked past. The answer to one of Inga's ridiculous tests in his chambers. Words of kindness left anonymously, letting him know someone out there cares. Bonus point if he thinks it's the Holy Mother guiding him down the correct path.

Nahyuta Sadmadhi spends a lot of his game time telling people they are going to Hell. In detail and with relish.

A word before I start: this is not intended as a Nahyuta-bash and I don't think he's irredeemably evil or that everything else that happened was his fault. But still, that doesn't change the fact that his conduct for most of the game was Not On. (And postgame he's going to have to work at breaking those bad habits, because while one can decide to change one's ways, sticking to that decision is not so easy.)

So. Nahyuta Sadmadhi often goes off on one describing the torments of Hell to, well, anyone who does something he doesn't like. A behaviour that honestly bothers me more than the physical attacks that Franziska, Simon, and Godot dish out, for some reason. Perhaps because the physical violence just seems cartoonish and unreal, but words on the other hand...

My prompt is this; at some point, he tries it on someone whose reaction is not to just go 'aw jeez what a weirdo'. Someone who has suffered spiritual abuse in the past, and for whom being told they are evil and damned is a direct strike to parts of them that are still not healed.

How that person reacts would depend on them. Yelling back, perhaps. Crying. Breaking down visibly and messily. Or keeping it all inside, bottling it up... Regardless, I would like to see the fic involve they or another person confronting Nahyuta with the reality of his bullying.

For a bonus: that person is Ema. After all, we know nothing of her and Lana's upbringing. And she always seeemed deeply uncomfortable with Nahyuta in a way that was not at all how she acted around Klavier. And come the DLC case she seems to have broken ties with him.

An unfortunate string of unrelated incidents involving Apollo and Athena has led to a very embarrassing situation for the two of them.

Athena just laughed it off at first, when she found Apollo staring off into space, deep in thought, apparently not noticing that his line of sight was fixated directly on her butt.
Then, they had their little episode stumbling around in the dark when the power went out on a dark evening, and during their search for some kind of proper illumination, Apollo's hand somehow ended up firmly clamped on her ass for just a second.
Even that was pretty easy to just take in stride and use as an opportunity to tease him, though.
Athena finally hits her breaking point when a slip-up while climbing a stepladder with Apollo holding it steady leads to her co-worker helpfully catching her fall with his own body, using his face to cushion the impact of her ass on the floor.

The thought is bugging her all day at work the following day, and finally Athena drags Apollo aside, hoping Trucy and Phoenix won't overhear as she finally tells him to set the record straight.

I've been searching the earlier part of the kink meme for that old fic where Phoenix is actually a Phoenix (As in the bird). The Twisted Samurai personality is *radically* different from the normal Simon. He's not just blunt and brash; he's bloodthirsty and cruel, and has a hard time telling friend from foe. He even *sounds* different from Simon -- more beastly -- and has a wilder look to him. He normally only surfaces when Simon or someone close to him is in physical danger, and he hasn't had a reason to appear since his time in prison.

Let's say this personality gets triggered one night while out with Athena (not necessarily as a couple, but you can go that route if you want). They get jumped by some thugs after waking out of the bar late at night, and the Twisted Samurai comes out to beat them to a pulp -- maybe even killing one of them. Afterward, he's left with a terrified, trembling Athena, who has to use all she's learned about psychology to calm the Twisted Samurai and bring the real Simon back.

Whether it's shippy, whether it ends tragically -- all that, as they say, is up to authornon.

Apollo's injuries from the courtroom bombing are much more severe than in canon, leaving him in the hospital for an extended stay with a minimal chance of survival.
While his co-workers are uncovering the truth behind the attack and Athena is still trying to find a way to clear Simon's name, they're also sharing the burden of knowing that Apollo could very well die at any time.
That is, until they're approached by an unexpected visitor with a very unexpected proposal.

David Sarif, CEO of Sarif Industries, one of the world's leading biotechnology firms, was in LA on the day of the bombing and learned of what happened to Apollo. So, he's come to make the Agency and Apollo himself an offer.
Even in the unlikely event that Apollo survives his injuries, it's near-impossible that he'll retain use of any of his limbs. So, Sarif's proposal is for Apollo to undergo extensive augmentation surgery to save his life.
Sarif offers an entire suite of top-grade replacements for Apollo's damaged limbs and organs, on just the same line as Deus Ex's own Adam Jensen, sans the military equipment and weaponry.

Weeks later, after the UR-1 retrial and its aftermath, Apollo is finally home, joined by his friends and co-workers as he properly takes in the full extent of everything that was done to save him.
Getting used to the differences his augmentations make in his fine motor skills and senses is going to be quite the adjustment, not to mention the psychological side of things.

Everyone is glad beyond words that he's still alive, of course. Trucy tries her best to keep his spirits high, talking about how much attention the Wright Anything Agency will draw once he's back at work and they can advertise his services again. ("It's gonna be so cool, Polly! Just think of how people are gonna react when they read 'Apollo Justice: Augmented Attorney'!")
With Simon saved, Athena sees a new goal for herself in helping Apollo through the trauma of everything that's happened to him.

Anon here read some thought-provoking tumblr posts and got thinking:

What if in actuality, Nahyuta was "born" a girl and was Amara's proposed heir after she died when "she" grew older? Ga'ran, knowing it would be impossible for her to be truly the Queen of Khur'ain but perhaps simply a regent at best that only rules until Amara's "daughter" was of age and Amara's lineage would be considered the primary bloodline, decided to sabotage this in order to succeed with her own plans.

Perhaps another reason for incriminating Dhurke the way she did was to prevent Nahyuta from inheriting Amara's title in the first place, as she would have no good reason to banish Nahyuta from the throne otherwise. And unlike later on with Rayfa, she would NOT have the ability to claim Nahyuta as her own the same she did with Rayfa since Nahyuta was already two years old at this point with the public fully aware that "she" is Amara's child.

However, years later, Nahyuta discovers that not only is "she" not actually a girl but rather a boy with no channeling powers as a result.

Whether Ga'ran finds out about this when she kidnaps Amara the second time or only when she meets with Nahyuta again when he's an adult is up to you. As for Rayfa, perhaps Ga'ran kidnapped her due to the lack of a heir and fertility. With Amara presumed "dead" ten years ago and Dhurke's name tainted, she would be easily able to raise Rayfa as her own child without the public questioning too much and have it recorded in history it was HER lineage that continued the great Khur'ain's bloodline, not Amara.
