So, it's some time after SoJ, and ever since Turnabout Time Traveler the original lunch money trio had reconnected some and began to hang out again whenever they were free. Of course, being adults who had been through so much and spent so much time apart over nearly a decade, they aren't nearly the same as when they were kids, or even during the trilogy. Nevertheless, Larry and all of his doofiness manage to make Phoenix and Edgeworth feel like they all never really left. He's still the same as ever.
... except. Not really.
One day Phoenix (and Edgeworth too if you're inclined) decides to visit Larry on a whim. The man's surprisingly moderate and easygoing in his own home compared to how he behaves in public, but other than that doesn't seem any different.
It starts off ordinarily, with old friends simply chatting in the living room, talking about their lives. Phoenix initially doesn't have any reason to worry about Larry... until the man in question makes a seemingly innocuous remark and several black Psyche Locks appear. Until he finds an empty bottle of Prozac with Larry's name on it on the bathroom floor. Until he finds several other medications like it behind a cabinet, pushed all the way to the back so it's hard to see them.
As the day goes on, Phoenix finds more and more of these red flags and is forced to silently deduce a hard truth: his friend had been sick for years, perhaps even for as long as he knew him and that was part of the reason why he always acted the way he did, and that he has more than likely attempted to kill himself during the years they were apart.
What Phoenix does with this information, if he decides to confront Larry about it at all, and the aftermath of it is up to you.
Bonus points if at one point Larry echoes something Phoenix and Edgeworth has said about him before, either as a self-depreciating joke or an unconscious taunt.

Every time Larry breaks up with a woman, he goes to one of his good friends, Nick or Edgey for comfort. Unfortunately, Edgey is not particularly good at the whole comfort thing and is himself nursing a crush on someone that he wrongly believes to be unrequited (Phoenix seems most likely for this prompt but I'll accept pretty much anyone as long as the person is of age). After a deeply ill-planned attempt at substituting alcohol for comfort, Larry and Edgey wake up in the same bed, hungover and naked.
You can take this where you want, but I'd love it if over the years they became mutual friends-with-benefits every time a relationship of Larry's crashes, neither of them wanting a romantic relationship (and Larry probably still considering himself straight), just enjoying the chance to explore a lot of kinky stuff outside the pressures of a relationship. Meanwhile Phoenix just assumes the lack of Larry lamenting a breakup to him anymore means that Larry's finally sorted his love life out and grown out of chasing models. When Larry eventually lets the truth slip in front of him, hilarity ensues.
If Miles/his crush happens because Larry decides to make sure it does, I will love you forever.

So basically I just want any m/f ship where the girl is the guy's mentor and he's crushing on her big time but he's too shy to say anything, and she's crushing on him too but she doesn't want to compromise their working relationship. And he thinks she's super cool and really admires her and there's a lot of blushing and just generally it's adorable.
Any ship is good, but I'd prefer something other than the obvious Mia/Phoenix! I do really love that ship but let's get some variety! AU is basically the only way to go for this. Also the characters obviously have to be of age. I'd love to see what you guys come up with!
