New Requests:

turns out a little validation can go a long way
so I saw a comment on reddit a couple days ago regarding Larry:

"Yeah he's really desperate for a girlfriend XD But I think that's because he's actually super-insecure. He feels like he's not good at anything although he's actually a really good artist. I think Larry was hit super hard when Misty died - she was the only one who ever made him feel like he was worth something. He doesn't need a girlfriend. He just needs someone to believe in him."

And it hit me. What if he's not even interested in most of the girls he dates? What if he's just been trying to alleviate his loneliness and non-existent self-worth by dating luxurious girls who just aren't his type all this time, and he didn't even know it? Hell, maybe that could even be a reason for why some of them break up with him so quickly - they saw he didn't TRULY love them romantically, even if he acted like the most dutiful boyfriend.

I guess what I want is Larry coming to this realization, somehow. That no amount of superficial relationships or ostentatious behavior could ever fill the nagging void in his heart, that he was happiest when he was just quietly drawing next to "Elise" or as a kid eating ice cream with Phoenix and Miles on Gregory's front porch on a Saturday afternoon. But he has (unconsciously) been trying to push these feelings away by causing general havoc for years, and that's alienated the people he cares for the most.

Maybe one day he's suddenly reminded of his old mentor, resurfacing old feelings.

Maybe it's on a middle of a date and he is just. Not feeling it anymore.

Maybe his picture books really take off, giving him huge success, but he still feels a vague sadness he can't place... but then a kid comes up to him, telling him how much they loved the book.

Or perhaps after finishing a piece which he's worked particularly hard on, someone -Phoenix and/or Miles maybe- actually compliments him on it and he just... has a breakdown.

However way you want to write it, it'd be good if it could conclude with some sort of positive resolution. This boy depresses me enough.

Executive dysfunction
"There's a word for it? I mean, it doesn't excuse that I push all of cleaning onto Apollo! Or that I jump into things that my friends have to save me from. It's just... there are other people who have these problems? I'm just not too lazy and stupid to run a law agency?"

Or the time his psychotherapist explained to Phoenix what executive dysfunctions are and that they have strong evidence that he has them.

Diet sabotage
Attorney, prosecutor or detective of your choice is looking a bit chunky after the holidays and decides to get back in shape. Thing is, their partner likes their plush, heavier figure and... sort of... sabotages them? A little? Partner goes between feeling super guilty about keeping junk food around, pushing that extra glass of wine, cream instead of skim milk in the coffee etc. and rationalising what they're doing. A happy ending would be nice but isn't a requirement.

Therapy
All the characters get therapy. It can be crack addled sexy therapy. I would just love to see Edgeworth admitting he's heavily medicated now or Larry ignoring a therapist's recommendations or what passes for mental health care in all the made up countries this series has.

Cykesquill legacy pregnancy
I don't think I've ever seen this, but please point me to it if it exists:

Sometime between 5-3 and 5-4, when Athena has learned that Simon is going to be executed soon, she decides to put a certain plan into action. You see, she's done her research and found out that Simon used to donate to a sperm bank to pay his way through law school, and somehow manages to get a hold of one of the samples. If Simon is going to die, she wants to give birth to his child to remember him by, and she also figures that, since he's big on tradition, he'd be happy if a woman acknowledged him as the father of her child.

Except Simon, of course, gets exonerated. Athena still decides to keep the pregnancy - but now, she has to figure out if and how to tell him.

Bonuses:
- Simon figures out she's pregnant before she can tell him
- Simon initially suspects someone else to be the father (e.g. Apollo)
- When he finds out what's really going on, he feels like he has personally ruined Athena's "innocence," but knows he can't tell her what to do with her own body
- He steps up to take responsibility, accompanying Athena to her check-up appointments etc., and gradually gets invested
- He eventually realizes that the sight of pregnant!Athena gets him hot and bothered

Would love to see a "pregnancy first - love and sexytimes later (after angsting and betrayal and all that other fun stuff)" fic for those two! No SoJ references, please.
