Miles Edgeworth just has sent off Wright after morosely discussing Miss Cykes' impending conviction for her mother and Clay Terran's supposed murders. Prosecutor Blackquill, now free, is stalking the courthouse like a ghost. Defense attorney Mr. Justice is in hospital because of a fainting spell, but has been pressing to hear the final courting of his former colleague, although he seems to regret this more and more. Trucy hasn't left her room for a week now.
So when somebody knocks at the door, Edgeworth is irritated, because who dares to interrupt him? When Maya Fey enters, Edgeworth blinks.
"Miss Maya? What are you doing here? Wright didn't tell me you were visiting."
"He doesn't know either. 'Mr. Wright', I mean." There's an odd tone in her voice which even Edgeworth notices.
"Did you two have an argument or why do you treat him as 'mister'?" She heaves a heavy sigh that rattles through her shoulders.
"You can't tell that man what you're going to see. And what you are going to see is real. The Kurain Chaneling Technique is real. So-" The spirit medium blinks away tears as her facade cracks. "I've only discovered it two days ago. You're only going to be believe me when you see it for yourself." It sounds like a warning, and it is, because the next moment, her body wavers. Before Edgeworth's awe-struck eyes, her body changes-
He's wearing Miss Maya's clothes, her long hair instead of his usual spikes. Slowly his eyes open and he gazes upon him.
"Edgeworth." Tears gather in Wright's eyes. "I'm so sorry."
