Due to 'shenanigans', his contacts are lost/broken/destroyed/eaten/smashed. He refuses to wear his normal glasses, citing the fact that they quite frequently need adjustment when they slide off his nose.
Trucy just so happens to own a pair of contacts in his strength. A pair of trick contacts, of the sort that are entirely black. Edgeworth is less than happy, but has to accept the contacts.
The witnesses are so traumatised by the Demonic-looking prosecutor that they immediately admit everything, including when they stole a cookie at the age of four. Phoenix fights a losing battle to not burst out laughing. The judge wonders if he can retire during the recess.

But no one can figure out what the exact nature of their relationship is now. Are they just flirting? Are they having some kind of undefined fling? Are they secretly dating and just not openly telling anyone?

During AA6, Phoenix manages to pass out from back pain. After trying to kowtow (go on all fours, then lower your head to the floor). But, thing is, that isn't actually that hard a position to get into - to actually cause injury to yourself, you have to have a SERIOUSLY messed up back...
Obviously, Phoenix has been hiding some SERIOUS injury or illness of some kind. Does he have shattered vertebrae? Slipped discs? Galloping spinal arthritis? Which just begs the question of how he picked up that severe an injury without even NOTICING.
Bonus: Trucy chewing out her dad for not telling them.

So this prompt has grown and changed a bit since I first thought of it a few days ago. Originally I wanted ace!spectrum Edgeworth, well-accustomed to being in love with Phoenix, to have some kind of epiphany moment that he's also ATTRACTED to Phoenix... then dealing with that. Whether they are in a relationship or not, mostly the focus would be on how Edgeworth adjusted to this new aspect of his feelings, something he has never felt. Does he feel the need to start identifying as demi? Does he get horribly flustered anytime he is around Phoenix in any context until he's able to reach some sort of peace about this (probably)? If they aren't together, does this precipitate a change, and if so how mixed are Edgeworth 's feelings about that in the light of this new developer? What does he even want to do with this attraction - maybe sex is still off the table for him.
But then I was thinking a bit more about what if he still didn't want to ever actually have sex because the reality of two bodies getting jiggy together just doesn't appeal to him (+makes him very anxious to be so exposed in front of someone else?). And it somehow occurred to me that his solution is to close himself in his bedroom while his already-boyfriend Phoenix sits outside in the hallway and talks him through masturbating to a fantasy of them having sex together (via phone call maybe). Then comes in when he's done and joins for the afterglow snuggles.
I now LOVE the second part, personally it strikes me as both hot and romantic and I wanna read it. But I'd also be interested in reading just part one, since there are so many interesting ways it could be taken. I'd love either of these, basically!
