Phoenix Wright has not once lost a trial for a defendant that he took on willingly, and where he had access to honest evidence.
It gets to the point where just the fact that he takes on a defendant means the defendant is immediately cleared of all charges. Even if they were found standing over the victim with a bloody hacksaw and holding the decapitated head of the victim while laughing like a maniac. Instead, every single potential witness the prosecutor can think of gets investigated as a potential murderer.
And if Phoenix actually honestly loses a case? Cue the immediate questioning of everyone in the vicinity, search warrents going out left and right, and massive media attention, because obviously someone blackmailed him/forged evidence/etc. That's the only reasons he ever loses a case.
Various Bad Guys IncorporatedTM groups pull out all the stops to convince him to willingly take them on as defendants. Trucy gets kidnapped three times per day, to the point where she starts running an online rating of the kidnappers ("Old abandoned warehouse. Tied me to an uncomfortable chair, but did bring me water in a cup with a straw. 3/5 stars"). Simon starts accompanying Athena everywhere as a bodyguard, which causes the local gossip magazine to have a field day. Apollo is frustrated with the constant blackmail letters blocking the mailbox every day and tries to scare away the Bad Guys IncorporatedTM goons by yelling very loudly at them - and causing a spike in the sale of earplugs in the immediate vicinity.
And Phoenix is just sitting with his head in his hands and wondering if he can afford losing trials on purpose to stop the lunacy.
